This year, AFDF was invited to participate in the 43rd annual NOAA Fish Fry in Washington DC on June 6th. The NOAA Fish Fry provides an opportunity for representatives of the seafood industry to bring awareness to their local fisheries and issues, while serving seafood to approximately 900 people. AFDF partnered with Genuine Alaska Pollock Producers (GAPP), Trident Seafoods and Chef Morgan Gabriel, Barnacle Foods, and the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) to serve two dishes highlighting Alaska seafood and the Alaska Symphony of Seafood: Wild Alaska Pollock Tacos paired with Alaska Kelp Salsa, and Wild Alaska Pollock Sliders with Alaska Kelp Pickles. Wild Alaska Pollock products were provided by Trident Seafoods and Alaska Kelp products were provided by Barnacle Foods. We were all thrilled to have our booth visited by Secretary Wilbur Ross, Senators Murkowski and Sullivan, and many others important to our industry.
